The Piano Pages: Piano Tips

Whether you're a piano novice or expert, there are some tips and tricks that can help anyone:

* Practice.

* Keep your eyes a few notes ahead of your hands.

* Practice.

* Always determine what keys will be sharp or flat before beginning to play the piece.

* Practice.

* Don't move your hands without knowing where they're going.

* Practice.

* Sometimes it's easier to play standing up then sitting down.

* Practice.

* Don't be afraid to move while playing. I keep rhythm a lot better when I move some.

* Practice.

* Definitely use the pedal when at all possible - it makes your music sound so much better.

* Practice.

* The notes on the left side of your piano sound louder than the notes on the right side, even when you play them the same. To assure that your high notes sound as loud as your low notes, play the notes with your right hand a little louder than the notes with your left hand.

* And Practice. :)
