"Karaoke: Music Lessons On Tape" by Kara Woollatt
Tapes That Help A Child Learn Music
Believe it or not, your child is learning valuable music
lessons every time they sing along with a karaoke tape. To
top that off, your little darling is also improving their
memory, reading skills, and intra-personal skills. Some
special educational karaoke tapes also expose your child to
lessons in science, health and environment. All that from a
CD or tape that holds a few loved songs and their lyrics!
When I was young one of my favorite pastimes was singing
along to my preferred songs on the radio. I would also
tape them in order that I could listen to them as much as I
wanted, make believing I was the famous singer. I also
persuaded my mother to buy me records that came with the
song sheets contained inside the record covers. I spent
many happy hours listening to the songs and learning their
lyrics. Although my family did not have the resources to
send me for private singing tuition, my practice at home
was useful when it came to castings for plays or concerts
put on at school. I was lucky enough to get some good
parts due to the fact that I knew the songs off by heart.
Today's karaoke tapes and CDs for children can offer the
same opportunity for many young singers. Even if the child
has no ambition of trying out for solos or parts in
community plays, the confidence that a child gains when he
or she performs these songs can carry over to other areas of
the child's life. For instance, practicing an oral report
for a class is much easier to approach when you first rely
on the steady flow of background music to guide you through
a series of lyrics. Some karaoke tapes even offer feedback
about your vocal talents and expression. These low cost
lessons are great for any highly motivated child who so
desperately wants to develop his or her singing voice. Even
without karaoke singing lessons, a child is naturally
developing and strengthening his or her vocal muscles and
upper body strength.
Sing along tapes for kids and Kids Karaoke are not quite
the same. If you buy a sing along you tend to get the
music on tape and a sheet with the words. This means that
you need to know how the vocal deliver goes before you sing
along. Karaoke for kids does not require a good prior
knowledge of the song because you usually have options that
include having singers in the background leading you in the
tune. Karaoke usually shows the lyrics on the screen and
demonstrates when to sing each word and how long to hold it
for. The clearly helps get the all important timing right.
Some of the more popular karaoke music for children on
today's market comes from Disney Karaoke. Several online
karaoke warehouses sell tons of children's karaoke. For
instance, AceKaraoke.com and Amazon.com carry a large
selection of popular karaoke for children such as nursery
rhymes to American Idol hits, as well as easy to use karaoke
machines that are well-loved by kids.
