The Piano Pages: Getting Started
So you're interested in learning to play the piano. What's first?
Well, you need a piano, of course. Or a musical keyboard (I love keyboards - I have had two, and I enjoy them every bit as much as any piano).
You'll also need a
piano bench. And plenty of music to play. While we offer some sheet music on the site (click here to visit our sheet music index), we can't boast nearly the collection of some other sites. Check out the following links for great sheet music, some free and others worth more than the price they charge:
Download over 3,000 classical sheet music titles for only $37.75.

Or check your local bookstores or library for songbooks.
Next, you need to find a piano teacher. Very important. We offer a free online piano course (click here to visit our lesson index), but chances are that you will still need or want a teacher. You can look in your phone book for suggestions, but you'll probably get your best help by asking around. I'm sure your friend has a friend who had a friend who had a wonderful piano teacher. :)
Okay, you have your instrument, you have your music, and you have a teacher. (Or our lessons). What more can you need?
Well, there are always some things you want but don't really need - you'll find a nice collection of those on our products page. There we offer links to piano sheet music, e-books, posters, and more fun stuff.
Now! You're set. You're ready. You, my friend, are a pianist. Doesn't that sound nice? :)
