If I were any more obsessed with Adle’s voice, it’d need a restraining order. Seriously.
Her Rolling in the Deep isn’t just one of the most powerful and addictive songs of all time – it’s the PERFECT song. The voice, the music, the lyrics… chills.

Here’s the Foster the People video for their HOT Pumped Up Kicks. Seriously, I challenge you to name a more additively catchy song. If you haven’t bought Torches yet, do it this week. Every single song is awesome… get the cd. Trust me.
Irregardless of the demons she battled, Amy Winehouse had an undeniable talent. With an outstanding voice, beautiful face, and in-your-face style, she’ll live on forever in her music and videos.
Speaking of her music, the AP reports that she left behind a great deal of unreleased music. According to people close to Amy, no decision has been made about whether it’ll be released or not.
If anything good can come from this incredibly sad tragedy, I hope that others will realize that when you’re battling demons, only one of you are going to win. If only Amy had realized that she, herself, was worth fighting for and worth saving. The story would have had a whole other ending. I’m sure that what she’d want more than anything would be for others to learn from her life. I think the thought would make her smile that amazing, one of a kind, smile of hers!
Sky Ferreira has released a new lyric video for her song “Traces.” The darker, electro-ballad is off of her new AS IF! EP available on iTunes now.
Often buzzed about in the fashion world, Sky was bound to bring her unique style to the California desert last weekend at Coachella. She caught the eye of Women’s Wear Daily at Mulberry’s BBQ and landed herself on the cover of their Coachella issue.

Jay Z and Beyonce: Click the Picture for a Larger View
One of the hottest couples of all-time, Hip hop king Jay Z and queen of all things fabulous Beyonce enjoyed a “date night” in Melbourne on Monday. Music’s royalty went bowling, then shopping.
Beyonce wore body-hugging lycra pants, high heel shoes, a top hat and big celebrity sunglasses. Jay-Z opted for his trademark hip hop baggy jeans.
The intensely private pair were flanked by security as they went bowling at Crown’s Kingpin Bowling Lounge. Reportedly, an awkward moment almost went down when Beyonce discovered that her heels had to go if she wanted to bowl.
After a few minutes of concern, she put on some knee-high kingpin socks and bowling shoes and hit the lanes.
Proud husband Jay-Z took plenty of pictures of his wife as she bowled for more than an hour.
Jaz Z then hit the nearby neon pool tables, before they headed to Crown’s Versace boutique for some late-night shopping.

A bright new star is set to invade the pop music scene – 17-year-old Charice, discovered on YouTube in 2007.
Charice may look like any other pretty teenager: stylish, confident, petite and filled with non-stop energy. But when she opens her mouth to sing - with a profound, rich and soaring 100 decibel voice from every inch of her 5 feet 1 inch body, the audience quite literally gasps.
And at 13 million hits and counting on YouTube, it appears that audience is growing at a staggering pace.
Already a sensation in her native Philippines, Charice’s self-titled US debut CD is scheduled to be released on May 11th via 143/Reprise Records – the day after her 18th birthday! Her first single, Pyramid features label mate Iyaz (who recently spent four weeks at #1 with his smash hit, Replay) and is already making waves on Top 40 radio. Listen to the song here, and follow Charice’s journey thus far by checking out “Charice: A Star is Born” on her YouTube channel.
“Pyramid” is also available for download now on iTunes, while her upcoming album is available for pre-order on Amazon. Visit ChariceSings.com for more information and updates from this amazing new talent!

So, there have been a serious drought in updates lately, right? Right. My only reason is this: The music world has been kind of boring me lately! Sorry, but there you have it.
I’d made a pact with myself that I wouldn’t post another entry until something (or someone) came along that made me glad I had a music blog in the first place.
Thank you Carly Smithson. Thank you We Are the Fallen. Carly wasn’t only one of my all-time favorite Idols ever, she was one of the best singers and biggest talents the show ever saw. Yet they never even registered that fact. This girl, with vocals that take your breath away was subjected to ridiculous treatment when she was on Idol. She had to stand there and take fashion advice from Simon. Fashion advice! She’s in good company, though – Jennifer Hudson also was treated to Simon Cowell fashion advice while on the show. Like Jennifer, I think Carly’s going to be okay.
Lovely Carly and former members of Evanescence have come together to create We Are the Fallen and have snapped me out of my Music Blog doldrums. They’ve released a remastered version of their debut single, ‘Bury Me Alive.’ This outstanding video was conceived by director Kyle Newman and his actress wife Jamie King (who stars in the video).
Using the stages of a burial as a metaphor, the Bury Me Alive video tells the story of a relationship ending after being sold-out or disillusioned.
We Are the Fallen will release their debut, ‘Tear the World Down,’ May 11 in America via Universal Republic. The band will hit the road with HIM later this month for 28 dates. That tour kicks off March 26 in Philadelphia.
