Lady Gaga

Jason Mecier isn’t your ordinary artist. Instead of paints, pencils, or charcoal, he works with trash. Literal trash. He collects trash and discarded items from celebrities, then uses it to create a portrait. The one above, of Lady Gaga, is one of my favorites.

The SERIOUSLY:  After the years these ladies had?!  You seriously snub them? Seriously? : Miranda Lambert and Katy Perry… two of the main reasons to turn your radio on!  Oh well, that’s the beauty of award shows – you’re left feeling happy for the winners, even if you wonder WHY some are on stage instead of others.

Still wondering about some of these….  a few times I got confused, Is this the AMAs or Nickelodeon’s Kid’s Choice awards?

The ridiculously popular Lady Gaga seems to be giving love a second chance.

She and a former boyfriend, musician and bartender Luc Carl (shown above with Lady Gag and an unidentified friend), have recently reconciled, PEOPLE reports in its latest issue.

The couple broke up a few years ago but started dating again a couple of weeks ago, says a source. Last month the happy couple went public with their romance, attending a New York Mets game together.

A source told the magazine, “Gaga’s first album is entirely about their relationship and her latest song, ‘You and I,’ is about how they got back together. They’ve been in love for a while.”

Lady Gaga’s You and I Lyrics:

It’s been a long time since I came around
It’s been along time but I’m back in town
But this time I’m not leaving without you

You taste like whiskey when you kiss me oooh
I’ll give up anything again to be your baby doll
Yeah this time I’m not leaving without you

You said sit back down where you belong
In the corner of my bar with your high heels on
Sit back down on the couch where we
Made love for the first time
And you said to me

There’s something, something about this place
Something about lonely nights and my lipstick on your face
Something something about my cool Nebraska guy
Yeah something about
Baby you and I

Been two years since I let you go,
I could’ve listened to a joke for rock n roll
And muscle cars drove a truck right through my heart

You taste like whiskey when you kiss me oooh
I’ll give up anything again to be your baby doll
Yeah this time I’m not leaving without you

You said sit back down where you belong
In the corner of my bar with your high heels on
Sit back down on the couch where we
Made love for the first time and you said to me,

There’s something, something about this place
Something about lonely nights and my lipstick on your face
Something something about my cool Nebraska guy

Yeah something about, baby you and I
You and I
You, you and I
You, you and I
You you and I
You and I
You you and I
You you and I

[piano solo]

You said sit back down where you belong
In the corner of my bar with your high heels on
Yeah you like the red ones
Sit back down on the couch where we Made love for the first time and you said to me,

There’s something, something about this place
Something about lonely nights and my lipstick on your face
Something something about my cool Nebraska guy
Yeah something about
Baby you and I

You and I
You and I
You you and I
You you and I
You and I

You you and I
You you and I
You you and I

Been along time since I came around
Its been along time but I’m back in town

Just how big is the amazing Lady Gaga?  According to the website Mashable, which works with the video analytics company Visible Measures to track web-video viewing each month, the Lady has become the first artist to garner 1 billion total video views worldwide. Of the 65 music videos that have attracted 100 million or more views, Gaga has three: “Poker Face” (374.6 million views), “Bad Romance” (360.0 million views) and “Just Dance” (272.9 million views).

Get this:  These numbers don’t even include her latest controversial hit “Telephone.”

I’ve raved it before, I’ll rave it again.  Lady Gaga, Lady Antebellum, and Zac Brown all came along at the perfect time. The radio was beginning to even bore itself before they came along…. and goodness knows videos were on snooze patrol.

Strike a Chord would love to wish Lady Gaga a belated happy birthday – she was 24 yesterday!

Lady Gaga - OUT

In the September issue of OUT, Lady Gaga pays homage to 50s monster movies in a pretty cool pictorial. In the magazine, she reveals her master plan:

“I very much want to inject gay culture into the mainstream.  It’s not an underground tool for me. It’s my whole life. So I always sort of joke that the real motivation is to just turn the world gay.”

She’s never dull, you have to give her that.

Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga thrilled her fans when she took the stage at the 102.7 KIIS-FM’s Wango Tango 2009. She’s one of the top performers out there today, so if you ever get a chance to see her live, don’t even hesitate for a second. She’s wildly talented, insanely popular, incredibly colorful and she isn’t going anywhere.

Love her!

Rihanna

Rihanna, Lady GaGa, and Kanye West are all intertwined in the news this week – and since they’re 3 of my very favorites, I’m all over it!

Rihanna made her live comeback this week, at a fashion event in New York.

She performed two impromptu songs with her friend Kanye West at the Costume Institute Gala.

An eyewitness tells E! Online: “Kanye asked her to do it. It was his idea, but (Vogue editor / event organizer) Anna Wintour obviously had to approve it.”

Lady GaGa has said that Kanye West’s remix of ‘Poker Face’ is “exactly what the song is about“.

She dismissed fans’ claims that West, Kid Cudi and Common’s version gives the song a different meaning than she intended it to have.

In fact, in an interview with MTV News, Lady GaGa said: “It’s funny, because a lot of my fans were like, ‘GaGa, Kanye wrote a song…and it’s not about what your record’s about. Your record is about gambling. And this song is about dirty things’,” she said.

“I said to them, ‘You’re wrong. Kanye was right’.”

“It was really exciting that he had so much insight into what the song was about,” GaGa added.

Lady GaGa also spoke about how excited she was about Madonna attending one of her shows in New York. Yeah, I guess!

The gorgeous pictures of Rihanna in the post are from May 4, 2009: “The Model as Muse: Embodying Fashion” Costume Institute Gala at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. I LOVE the strong “I’m back” statement she’s making with the clothes, the stance, and the direct eye contact with the camera. She looks amazing and it’s great to see her back.

Lady Gaga and Cinema Bizarre

How’s this for a great pic?!  Cinema Bizarre, the glam-rockers from Berlin, have spent the past month opening up for the newly anointed Princess of Pop on her Fame Ball Tour. Lady Gaga.

Cinema Bizarre will be headlining their own shows on April 20th at The Knitting Factory in Los Angeles and on April 24th at Highline Ballroom in New York City. Head over to MySpace.com/CinemaBizarre for more info.

American Idol Winner David CookWell, it doesn’t get much better than this.  Arguably American Idol’s most talented winner, David Cook, and arguably the hottest female artist of the moment, Lady GaGa will both make live appearances at the result show of “American Idol” on Wednesday, April 1.

David Cook is set to sing his new single “Come Back to Me”, while Lady GaGa is scheduled to delivered her smash dance hit “Poker Face”.  Along with “Heartless” by Kanye, Poker Face is absolutely my favorite song of the moment.

A sneak peek of David Cook’s  music video for “Come Back To Me” will be aired during a commercial break of the American Idol result’s show.

“Come Back to Me” music video is directed by Gavin Bowden, the same man who helmed Red Hot Chili Peppers, Lifehouse and Jason Mraz’s videos.

Filmed at LAX airport in Los Angeles on Thursday, March 5, it will have Sarah Roemer landing the part as David’s love interest.

As for Lady GaGa, she has been touring across America to promote her debut album “The Fame”.

The Fame is one of the funnest, most entertaining, packed, powerful, and deliciously sexy cds I’ve ever heard.  Every song could be a hit and it seems like it’s headed in that direction.  She’s also leaving her fierce mark on the fashion world.  I’ve seen tons of Lady GaGa-ish sunglasses popping up in stores.

Love her.  She’s spirited and completely original.
