A bright new star is set to invade the pop music scene – 17-year-old Charice, discovered on YouTube in 2007.
Charice may look like any other pretty teenager: stylish, confident, petite and filled with non-stop energy. But when she opens her mouth to sing - with a profound, rich and soaring 100 decibel voice from every inch of her 5 feet 1 inch body, the audience quite literally gasps.
And at 13 million hits and counting on YouTube, it appears that audience is growing at a staggering pace.
Already a sensation in her native Philippines, Charice’s self-titled US debut CD is scheduled to be released on May 11th via 143/Reprise Records – the day after her 18th birthday! Her first single, Pyramid features label mate Iyaz (who recently spent four weeks at #1 with his smash hit, Replay) and is already making waves on Top 40 radio.
