Kanye West Goes Ape. Again.

Kanye West sooooo loves himself some Kanye West that it causes him to do things that gets under some people’s skin. Unfortunately for those of us who are Kanye fans, another one of these times came rolling around recently.

Okay, at the MTV Europe Music Awards on November 2, Justice and Simian won Best Video for “We Are Your Friends.” Kanye stormed the stage and ranted about his video “Touch the Sky” – talking about how much it cost to make, why he should’ve won, etc. He told the winners, “Nothing against you, but hell, man….”

Later in a press conference he continued:

“I haven’t seen [the Justice vs. Simian video]. Possibly it could have been quite good, but no way better than ‘Touch the Sky’. That is complete bullshit. I paid a million. Obviously it’s not all about the money, but the response it got transcended everything, it really made great TV. It took a month to film; I stood on a mountain; I flew a helicopter over Vegas. I did it to be the king of all videos and I wanted to walk home with that award.”

I wish Kanye would just enjoy the money he’s making, the fans he has (Hard headed fans like me who listen to his music faithfully, look forward to his next video, and even defend his outbursts…..”He’s just passionate, okay?!?!” ), the style of living he’s able to afford, his loved ones, his friends, his face…..

Not everyone can win awards – in my opinion, very rarely do the most deserving people actually win awards. They’re usually the ones in the crowd clapping for the ones on the stage – the ones who no one expected to win….not even the winners, themselves. Kanye’s just making things worse for himself – people are starting to talk about the wrong things instead of how phenominally talented this man is.

Personally, I think Kanye should’ve won the award – but that fact was completely lost in the way he handled it. Next time, I hope he will keep his seat, keep his dignity, and just clap. If he won’t do it for himself, I hope he does it for his fans.

We all know you should have won Kanye – the awards were thisclose to being a joke…like so many are.
