Poor Taylor sucked crooked knee caps tonight. He couldn’t seem to dial into any sort of emotion, let alone passion – and his vocals weren’t at all up to par. I wondered mid-through if he was sick or something. If he is, then kudos to him for not pointing it out. If he wasn’t ill, then I’m sticking with the knee caps assessment.
In an odd turn of events, I actually didn’t like Mandisa’s performance for once, and liked Paris for probably only the second time. Kellie was cute, but I don’t think that song was cut out for a live performance and I’m pretty much in favor of leaving Reba to Reba.
Katharine left me kind of puzzled. Just didn’t get much out of it. She looked fantastic, though.
Ace, Chris, and Bucky – in my opinion – were great. Loved the ballads and they did them perfectly.
I think next year country music-hating Simon oughta pull a no show on Country night. If he has to keep saying, “Didn’t like the song…” over and over, maybe he should just phone it in.
Then again, even a grumpy Simon is preferable to Plastered Paula!
