Here’s the Foster the People video for their HOT Pumped Up Kicks. Seriously, I challenge you to name a more additively catchy song. If you haven’t bought Torches yet, do it this week. Every single song is awesome… get the cd. Trust me.
This is certainly Pia Toscano’s time – the 22-year-old singer recently announced a record deal with Interscope and the release of her debut single “This Time,” and this week premiered the track’s official music video. Head over to PiaToscanoOfficial.com to see the clip and to download the video for free from iTunes. The single version of “This Time” is still on sale at the digital retailer for only $0.69.
We Music blog writers often spew cheesy accolades on up and coming artists (sure thing, can’t miss, the total package, next big thing, future household name, yada yada yada). I’m trying to avoid all of those, because I’ve been as guilty as anyone of using them – and I give myself a headache each time I do.
HOWEVER, sometimes these descriptions are the only thing that’ll fit! Pia Toscano has so much going on for her, and (as far as I can see) absolutely nothing going against her. I think she has a great future (uh oh, there’s another one) and I can’t wait to see it all unfold. We wish her nothing but huge fame, multiple platinum records, video awards, magazine covers, and worldwide phenomena.
Irregardless of the demons she battled, Amy Winehouse had an undeniable talent. With an outstanding voice, beautiful face, and in-your-face style, she’ll live on forever in her music and videos.
Speaking of her music, the AP reports that she left behind a great deal of unreleased music. According to people close to Amy, no decision has been made about whether it’ll be released or not.
If anything good can come from this incredibly sad tragedy, I hope that others will realize that when you’re battling demons, only one of you are going to win. If only Amy had realized that she, herself, was worth fighting for and worth saving. The story would have had a whole other ending. I’m sure that what she’d want more than anything would be for others to learn from her life. I think the thought would make her smile that amazing, one of a kind, smile of hers!
One of my favorite bands, The Band Perry, just hit a milestone (something this trio had better get used to). Their latest hit single, “You Lie,” has now earned Gold certification from the RIAA for sales exceeding 500,000.
“You Lie” was written by The Henningsens (comprised of a dad, his daughter, and his son): Aaron (dad), Brian and Clara Henningsen.
“You Lie’ is full of spitfire and it’s our high-five to everyone who’s been the victim of a cheatin’ heart,” explained The Band Perry. “Only in Country music could a song about feeling fed-up be so much fun to sing. When we perform this one, we get a big ‘amen!’ back and we thank everyone who has joined in.”
This Henningsen family is from Illinois, but their talent has landed them in the country music mecca, Nashville.
They’ve written other songs for The Band Perry and penned “Alone” which was recorded by Sara Evans. If they’re anywhere near as good as “You Lie,” this family will soon be household names.
The song below, “Moonbeams,” was written by The Band Perry and The Henningsens. It’s performed by The Henningsens, and as you can tell – this is a group with big things ahead. Love Clara Henningsen’s voice.
Keri Hilson and Nelly take us behind-the-scenes of the steamy video for their hit single, “Lose Control.” The two give us an inside look at how cold the making of a hot video can be, the meaning behind the song, and we meet the video’s choreographer, Richy Jackson, and director, Colin Tilley.
You can pick up Keri’s album, No Boys Allowed, featuring such hits as Pretty Girl Rock, One Night Stand ft. Chris Brown, and Lose Control ft. Nelly, on iTunes!
They proove, yet again, that no one shows more creativity with videos than they do! Most don’t even come close. Foo Fighters have premiered the official video for “Walk,” the second single off the band’s recently released album, Wasting Light. Watch Dave Grohl have a really really bad day. Seriously…a terrible day. Fans can view the video over at the band’s official video page, www.walk.foofighters.com.
Foos will be performing “Walk” at this year’s MTV Movie Awards on June 5th starting at 9pm EDT/8pm CDT. For more information on the Foo Fighters as well as tour dates, make sure to check out the band’s official website, www.foofighters.com, as well as their Facebook and Twitter pages. Tickets for the band’s North American tour, which kicks off in Toronto, ON on August 9th, are available now for purchase.
Fans can pick up a copy of Wasting Light on iTunes available now!
Sky Ferreira has released a new lyric video for her song “Traces.” The darker, electro-ballad is off of her new AS IF! EP available on iTunes now.
Often buzzed about in the fashion world, Sky was bound to bring her unique style to the California desert last weekend at Coachella. She caught the eye of Women’s Wear Daily at Mulberry’s BBQ and landed herself on the cover of their Coachella issue.
The David Cook (“Light On”) video above is an outstanding AOL session (I couldn’t possibly love AOL sessions any more than I do – always outstanding.) With this song, David shows a different side than some may be accustomed to. He’s one of my all-time favorite Idol contestants and he (with Kelly Clarkson) ties for my favorite American Idol winner. With David Cook, it doesn’t matter WHAT he sings, he’s going to nail it in a way the song’s never been nailed before.
Or will be nailed again.
Yeah. I’m a huge fan.
David Cook fans are excited about This Loud Morning, from RCA records – available on June 28th.
This Loud Morning is the Season 7 American Idol winner’s sophomore album. Executive produced by Matt Serletic (Rob Thomas, Matchbox Twenty, Collective Soul), This Loud Morning features tracks written and co-written by David Cook along with many acclaimed songwriters including, David Hodges, Ryan Tedder, Kevin Griffin and Marti Frederiksen.
According to Cook, “This album is the culmination of one of the loftiest endeavors I’ve ever undertaken. The end result is an album that I cannot wait to share with everyone.” Earlier this year Cook recorded the farewell song for the 10th season of American Idol, which can be heard every week this season. The song, chosen by American Idol creator and Executive Producer Simon Fuller, is a remake of Simple Minds 1985 smash “Don’t You (Forget About Me)”. After winning the Idol crown in season 7, Cook went on to sell over 1 million copies of his self-titled debut album and set out on a year long nationwide tour in support of his multiple hit singles. Released on November 18th, 2008, David Cook (19 Recordings / RCA Records) entered the Billboard charts at #3 and the digital album charts at #1, marking the best debut from an American Idol winner since 2006. Collectively the songs from David Cook have sold over 2 million tracks and ringtones combined. Cook’s coronation single, “The Time of My Life” was certified platinum and is not only the biggest single debut but the highest selling coronation single in the show’s history.

I have nothing but mad love for Nicole Scherzinger, so it gives me great pleasure to post this.
ESPN and ABC have produced a special open for 2011 NBA Playoff coverage airing across the networks including Nicole Scherzinger and Jason Bonham performing Led Zeppelins iconic Black Dog. The video debuted Saturday, April 16, for the start of the playoffs on ESPN and ABC.
It was an honor to join Jason Bonham on the iconic Led Zeppelin song Black Dog, Nicole commented. I am excited that fans will be able to see the video during the NBA Playoffs.
“Working with Nicole for the NBA Playoffs spot was amazing. She is the real deal, said Bonham. Not only is she one of the most beautiful people I have ever met, but she has a fantastic and powerful voice. She has a great rock voice and it worked out fantastic for Black Dog. I was so pleased to be able to bring this song to such a huge sporting event.”
Nicole Scherzinger is scheduled to release her solo debut, Killer Love, on Interscope/A&M this summer. Nicole set international singles charts on fire with her last two releases, Poison and the #1 single Dont Hold Your Breath, both of which will be included on Killer Love.
