One of my favorite bands of all-time is The Rolling Stones. The music, the showmanship, the lyrics, the timeless songs – there’s nothing about this band I don’t love madly. Fellow fanatics, enjoy the Rolling Stones posters and videos. If you aren’t a fanatic, pay closer attention. You’ll get there.

The exciting alternative rock band JANE’S ADDICTION will debut their official new single “Irresistible Force” Tuesday, August 2nd on the world-famous KROQ morning radio show “The Kevin & Bean Show,” which will be available through all digital outlets August 3rd. The song–a swirling, moody and epic composition– is taken from the band’s much-anticipated new album THE GREAT ESCAPE ARTIST (Capitol Records). Marking the first new studio album in eight years by Perry Farrell, Dave Navarro and Stephen Perkins, it is due out Tuesday, September 27th. The album also features “End To The Lies,” a pre-single teaser track which the band made available to their fans as a free download this past April.

They proove, yet again, that no one shows more creativity with videos than they do! Most don’t even come close. Foo Fighters have premiered the official video for “Walk,” the second single off the band’s recently released album, Wasting Light. Watch Dave Grohl have a really really bad day. Seriously…a terrible day. Fans can view the video over at the band’s official video page, www.walk.foofighters.com.

Foos will be performing “Walk” at this year’s MTV Movie Awards on June 5th starting at 9pm EDT/8pm CDT. For more information on the Foo Fighters as well as tour dates, make sure to check out the band’s official website, www.foofighters.com, as well as their Facebook and Twitter pages. Tickets for the band’s North American tour, which kicks off in Toronto, ON on August 9th, are available now for purchase.

Fans can pick up a copy of Wasting Light on iTunes available now!

Best news of the day: a new No Doubt album is not only in the works, but close to being done.

Gwen Stefani recently shared on the Ryan Seacrest show: “We’ve been going for a while trying to make this record and it’s been super challenging but really fun. We’re trying to enjoy the moment of writing and it’s just a really fun process and I think it’s going to be out this year. We got about 10 songs done and we want to do a few more just in case, but it’s a really good record; I really love this record. The main thing we were trying to do was write really catchy, good songs. There’s a lot of upbeat songs. It’s generally a pretty happy record.”

American Idol: Steven Tyler, Jennifer Lopez, Randy Jackson, and Ryan Seacrest

I remember how exciting and fun American Idol was during it’s first 5 or 6 seasons.  I remember waiting all week for Ryan Seacrest to say the magic words, “This IS American Idol!’  Then the music and I’d both get carried away.

Sadly, the show took a foul turn for the worse.  Simon seemed to lose interest (he always seemed crabby and bored), Paula seemed to lose her mind (she always seemed like her mind was floating somewhere near Jupiter).  The shows also took a turn for the worse when each episode seemed to focus more on the “featured” star of the night.  Who cares?!?!?  We tune in to see the IDOLS.  We want to hear more about them and more from them.

To be honest, the past few years were just too painful to even watch.  A show I was once obsessed with became something I just ignored.

I tuned in to the first episode of American Idol this season and, lo and behold, I fell in love with the series all over again.  Randy Jacks0n and Ryan Seacrest are back, and quite frankly, I’d missed them.  To their credit, through it all – they never lost their enthusiasm, passion, energy, or sense of humor.  They were the only things consistent about the series throughout the good years, the bad years, and the years I wish had never happened.

The remarkable thing is, the guys brought more magic with them this year – Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez.  Lightening didn’t just strike American Idol, it struck twice!   Tyler and Lopez have everything Cowell and Abdul lost along the way… and then some

There’s something captivating about all 3 judges (and Ryan Seacrest as well).  They obviously have a genuine love and respect for the contestants as well as the show.  Unlike Cowell, they aren’t bored or “annoyed” with the contestants.  They don’t seek to embarrass or humiliate anyone. They obviously want them to do well.  In the Hollywood rounds, it has been SO obvious that Jennifer Lopez is truly pulling for the singers.  You can see it in her ridiculously beautiful face – she’s physically WILLING them to do their best.

I love every single thing about what the new judges have brought to American Idol and I’m just truly grateful that I can love the show again.  American Idol has reinvented itself and it is honestly better than ever before.  Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez are exactly what American Idol and its fans needed.

This is the show we fell in love with.  Welcome back, Idol!
