You may not know the name Leah Siege, the mastermind behind Firehorse, but you’ve no doubt heard her voice. She’s the one who sings the infamous, “Every kiss begins with Kay” in Kay Jeweler’s commercials.

Haley Reinhart and Casey Abrams were two of my favorite American Idol contestants in season 10, so to say I’m excited about their duet is a gross understatement. The song and the video are everything I’d hope for, and expect, from these two. It showcases their amazing vocals and colorful personalities.
I only hope Haley and Casey will make an album together really soon. Really, really soon. Until then, know this: I’ll buy anything and everything with either one of their names attached to it. Love them and love them muchly.
What You Need to Know
American Idol finalist Haley Reinhart has just debuted her new video for Baby, It’s Cold Outside, a jazzy rendition of the holiday classic featuring fellow Idol alum Casey Abrams. The video, which premiered today on Yahoo, takes a behind the scenes look at the pair in the studio recording the track, which was produced by Busbee (Kelly Clarkson, Katy Perry) at Conway Studios in Los Angeles.
On season 10 of Idol, Haley and Casey were known for their unique, standout performances and jazzy vocal style, and quickly became fan-favorites. Entertainment Weekly called their jazz performance on Idol one the best duets of all time on American Idol. I couldn’t agree more.
What You Need to Do!
“Baby, It’s Cold Outside” will be available digitally November 21st, and will appear on Haley’s debut album due early next year. Get the latest news from Haley on her website, HaleyReinhart.com. CAN’T WAIT!
I could listen to their version for hours on end. In fact, I believe I will….

Singer/songwriter Alyssa Berna was raised in San Antonio, Texas in a music-steeped household, and it definitely shows in her music. I think you’re going to love this YouTube sensation and up-and-coming star.
After her videos caught the attention of super-star Pharrell, Alyssa signed to Star Trak Records and flew to London to record her debut with producer Martin Terefe (Jason Mraz, Train). Since then Alyssa has toured with Lifehouse and recorded a duet with lead singer Jason Wade, which is featured on the album along with singles “Cali Cali Cali” and “Soaking Up the Sun.”
Alyssa Bernal’s debut album Love Hangover is now available digitally.
Download the album on iTunes and Amazon, and get updates – and her latest cover videos, like Katy Perry’s “The One That Got Away” – at AlyssaBernal.com.

Here’s Chris Rene’s amazing and memorable X-Factor 2011 audition. This one still stops me in my tracks and blows me away. Best of luck, Chris Rene – you have millions of new people in your corner pulling for you now.

This is certainly Pia Toscano’s time – the 22-year-old singer recently announced a record deal with Interscope and the release of her debut single “This Time,” and this week premiered the track’s official music video. Head over to PiaToscanoOfficial.com to see the clip and to download the video for free from iTunes. The single version of “This Time” is still on sale at the digital retailer for only $0.69.
We Music blog writers often spew cheesy accolades on up and coming artists (sure thing, can’t miss, the total package, next big thing, future household name, yada yada yada). I’m trying to avoid all of those, because I’ve been as guilty as anyone of using them – and I give myself a headache each time I do.
HOWEVER, sometimes these descriptions are the only thing that’ll fit! Pia Toscano has so much going on for her, and (as far as I can see) absolutely nothing going against her. I think she has a great future (uh oh, there’s another one) and I can’t wait to see it all unfold. We wish her nothing but huge fame, multiple platinum records, video awards, magazine covers, and worldwide phenomena.
That’s all.

Kim Morrell is known primarily in the recording industry for her writing but I have a feeling she’s about to be known everywhere… period. To hear more, you’ll want to check out Kim Morrell’s YouTube channel.

Congratulations to 17 year old Scotty McCreery, the Season 10 winner of American Idol! I really thought Scotty and Lauren were the ones to beat this season. Their voices are just impeccable.
Be sure to grab his single “I Love You This Big” along with his Season 10 compilation album, which features full-length versions of 13 tracks that he performed while competing on the show, including Lonestar’s “Amazed” and “Gone” by Matchbox 20.
Runner-up Lauren Alaina’s new single “Like My Mother Does” is also available for download, on its own or part of her compilation album. Lauren Alaina American Idol Season 10 features her version of tracks by Faith Hill, Miley Cyrus, Elton John and 10 additional performances.
Both singles and the compilation albums are available now, exclusively on iTunes.
This was a wonderful season of American Idol – so much talent. The tour should really be something else!

Without Regret, the long-anticipated debut album from Kimberly Caldwell, is available in stores and online. The record features the single “Desperate Boys & Stupid Girls” (love the title!) and 10 other tracks meant to inspire and empower – many of which were written by the singer herself. “Everything I’ve done has led up to this moment,” she says. “I’m looking forward to people finally getting to know the real me!”
Kimberly will be celebrating the release with a live chat and acoustic performance today on Justin.tv at 6:30 pm Eastern. To get the latest news and updates, keep up with Kim on Twitter and Facebook and at KimberlyCaldwell.com.
In addition to her impeccable style and great personality, one of the things I’ve always loved most about Kimberly Caldwell is her all-American girl appeal. She’s as talented as she is beautiful and I hope both carry her far.

In the last post, I mentioned Crystal Bowersox and it was all it took to make me want to re-watch her Me and Bobby McGee performance from American Idol. It’s one of my all-time favorite American Idol moments. The girl just pours so much passion and emotion into everything she does.
Sigh. Love her.

Pia Toscano’s elimination from American Idol will go down with the all-time shockers (nearly as shocking as Chris Daughtry’s or the fact that Crystal Bowersox didn’t win – I’m still trying to cope with those). Not surprisingly, Pia has scored a record deal. She, somehow slipped through the American Idol voting cracks, but she didn’t fly under the industry’s radar.
Far from it.
From UsMagazine.com:
“Pia is being signed to a deal with Interscope Records who are rushing her into the studio to record an album ASAP,” a source familiar with the contract talks tells Us. “Starting [Thursday] night after the show, Interscope told her they wanted her and first thing [Friday] morning Interscope brass started calling every top songwriter and producer in town to get an album together and rush release it.”
Here’s the thing. This season is PACKED with talent, from top to bottom. From here on out, each elimination is going to leave us all shaking our heads. On the positive side, Pia is said to be handling everything exceptionally well and looks forward to what her future holds. No doubt… many, many wonderful things.
Best of luck to a beautiful girl I know we’ll be hearing A LOT from. If she can connect with the people who gave Kelly Clarkson her start, there’s no telling how far Pia will go. As a vote of my confidence in her, you’ll notice I’ve already given her her own category here on the music blog.
Serious stuff, that.
