Martina McBride With a Broken Wing
Great Song. Great Video. Unbelievable Voice.
Bo Bice: You Take Yourself With You
Plus Bo Bice Links (Twitter, Facebook, Official)
Granted. I’ve loved every song Bo Bice has ever performed. From the moment he burst into his American Idol audition with, “You can call me Bo!” – I’ve seen something in Mr. Bice that can only be called mad star quality.
You Take Yourself With You is one of his best songs yet. It’s off of Bo’s third album, 3 (You gotta admit, the title is classic Bo Bice!). The rocker fits into country music beautifully.
Country music fans love:
- talent
- killer vocals
- “meaningful” lyrics
- genuine people
- down to earth artists
- patriotism
Bo Bice nails each and every one – and then some. And just between you and me…. I still think Bo or Constantine should have won their season.

Dr. Pepper and Lady Antebellum Team Up
Great Drink, Great Music, Can't Miss
Dr. Pepper has been a long-time friend of mine. I fell in love with Dr. Pepper and started drinking it (by the gallons) in Jr. High School. When I got a little older and decided the calories weren’t on my side anymore, I switched to Diet Dr. Pepper and it has been my constant companion for years. A bottle or glass is never too far away.
Now, Dr. Pepper is making me prouder than ever that I’ve supported them for so many years. They’ve used some of my favorite artists in their commercials (KISS, Fergie…) and now they’re teaming with Lady Antebellum for something pretty special.
Read on for the details. As for me, it’s high time for a Diet Dr. Pepper.

Faith Hill, Tim McGraw Like We Never Loved at All
Powerful Song Meets Powerful Voices
If you haven’t seen Country Strong yet, get yourself to the theater asap. This is one very, very special movie. The acting is outstanding and the soundtrack is nothing short of amazing. Tim McGraw was wonderful in this movie and more than held his own with the great Gwyneth Paltrow. He has become quite an actor and is now (get this) filming a movie with Denzel Washington.
Ironically, while Tim McGraw was working with Gwyneth Paltrow on Country Strong, his wife Faith Hill was working with Gwyneth’s husband, Chris Martin from Coldplay, writing songs. At least that’s the story. McGraw joked to Chelsea Handler, “My wife is a huge Coldplay fan, and they spent a lot of time writing songs. I don’t want to start any rumors or anything, but I ain’t heard any songs yet!”
Faith Hill and Teleflora Make a Pretty Team
The Country Music Star Will Air in a Super Bowl Ad
As a music fanatic, I have a lot of different favorites. When someone asks who my favorite female singer, male singer, or group is – the answers often vary. Sometimes it depends on who I’ve been listening to that day. But, when it comes to my favorite female artists, five-time Grammy Award winner Faith Hill is always amongst the top 3 I name. There’s just something about her voice that makes everything in the world RIGHT. A lot of artists have talent, but some of them just have an extra something IT that sets them apart. Faith Hill, Whitney Houston, Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash, Tim McGraw, Creed, George Strait, Martina McBride, Kanye West, Shania Twain, Lady Antebellum, Daughtry, Rihanna, Jason Aldean, Gwen Stefani, Fergie, Christina Aguilera…. they’re just a few who don’t (or didn’t) just have IT, they define IT.
Beautiful Faith Hill is teaming up with the world’s leading flower delivery service, Teleflora, for the creation of “The Collection by Faith Hill.”
The line has been designed to reflect Faith’s impeccable style, taste, and artistry. It will be unveiled in Teleflora’s newest television commercial, which will debut during Super Bowl XLV on FOX on Sunday, February 6. The commercial will air during the second quarter – just a little head’s up for the rest of you Faith Hill fans!
Throughout the year, Faith will collaborate with Teleflora on “The Collection by Faith Hill,” adding to the assortment with a variety of elegant bouquets, including flowers for Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and Christmas, as well as everyday occasions.
The commercial that’ll air during the Super Bowl is a Valentine’s Day spot staged in a recording studio. Faith Hill steps in to coach her sound tech through a Valentine’s Day dilemma. Faith’s co-star in the commercial will be “The Collection by Faith Hill” Valentine’s Day assortment – “The Valentine’s Bouquet.”
Looking forward to the commercial and can’t wait to bring the flowers into my home. Everything Faith Hill touches is gold, a la Midas. Her first perfume (Faith Hill) is probably the best perfume on the market. It’s my favorite and, if you’ve ever sampled the perfume, you’ll know why. There’s no reason to expect that her Teleflora line will be anything but exceptional.
Faith Hill wouldn’t have it any other way.
Pam Tillis, Maybe it Was Memphis
Words Can't Describe How I Love this Song
Maybe it Was Memphis is one of those songs you just get lost it – hoping and praying you’re never found. Outstanding lyrics and music combined with the voice of a Southern Angel (Pam Tillis) make for a song I could listen to all day, every day.
Johnny Depp’s Daughter is a Taylor Swift Fan
Daddy Really Does Know Best
When Johnny Depp won the People’s Choice Award for ‘Favorite Movie Actor,’ he accepted the trophy from Taylor Swift.
Raising the prize in Taylor Swift’s direction, he said: “My daughter said that if I didn’t say hi to you I’d be in big trouble. So hi from my daughter.”
The actor, who is father to daughter Lily Rose and son Jack, went on to describe the award as a “stupefying” honour, adding: “If it wasn’t (for the fans) none of us would be here.”
Taylor Swift won an award of her own for ‘Favorite Country Artist’. She later tweeted: “Thank you SO much for the Peoples Choice Award! It’s sitting here all sparkly in my hotel room. I love you guys.”
The lovely country star is one of the most gracious, down-to-earth and fan-friendly stars ever, so it’s always a great treat to see her win anything and everything.
The Black Lillies: Little Darlin’
If I Loved this Song Any More I'd Have to Ask it Out
If you aren’t familiar with The Black Lillies, I’d be honored to introduce you. The Black Lillies are an intoxicating mixture of bluegrass, Americana, and country music. They’re one of those bands that simply make you feel good the minute they pick up an instrument and make you smile the minute they open their mouth.
As someone who has loved music all of her life, I can never understand why people would only listen to one genre of music. To me, it’d be like only eating chicken every single day – or never eating anything except corn.
Like food, there are simply too many wonderful choices to restrict yourself! When I talk to someone who is familiar with a wide variety of music, I’m always impressed. The more, the better! This morning, for example, I personally have listened to 3 songs by The Black Lillies, 2 songs by Fergie, and one of my favorite songs of all time (Terence Trent D’Arby’s Wishing Well…. come on, has there ever been a better song?).
Visit The Black Lillies website to learn more about this ridiculously talented band. Be sure to check out their tour dates to see if they’re going to be in your area – it looks like they have a busy January and February coming up.
You can also visit (and Like) them on The Black Lillies Facebook page.
Tim McGraw on Access Hollywood
