Working on the last post made Richard Marx’s monster hit, “Don’t Mean Nothin’” start playing in my mind, so I thought it was the perfect time to relive the song in video. This is still a great, great song!

Def Leppard’s Drummer Rick Allen

Encourages Wounded Soldiers to Rock On!

Rick Allen Def Leppard

I’d love to link to an article written by the very talented and courageous Rick Allen, drummer for one of my personal all-time favorite bands, Def Leppard. Rick Allen wrote the article for Guideposts magazine.

After losing his arm in a car crash the USO contacted Rick to speak to wounded soldiers. Rick went on to volunteer with the Wounded Warrior Project, a group dedicated to helping injured veterans heal both physically and mentally. Rick leads Drum Circles, a rhythm-based group therapy and uses his experience to inspire wounded soldiers.

From my own experience, I’ve learned that the human spirit needs only a spark to be reignited after a loss. Helping to find that spark for these soldiers has been one of the greatest honors of my life.” – Rick Allen

Read the wonderful article HERE. Read it and pass the link around – it’s encouraging for everyone!

Some songs just make every cell in your body happy to be alive. Wishing Well by Terence Trent D’Arby is one of those songs.

Tell your cells they’re welcome. They’re about to have a party.

There isn’t anything about Cher Lloyd that I don’t love. She’s kind of a glorious mixture of Keira Knightley, Joan Jett, and Blondie.

Hopefully we’ll see a lot more from this young lady. She has a certain quality that just leaves you wanting to hear more from her.

Best of luck, Cher. You’re a breath of originality and freshness that the music scene needs.

Madonna and her precious baby girl, Mercy.Madonna and her precious baby girl, Mercy

Via the Huffington Post, Madonna has issued a call to action.

“I am making a straightforward request,” she began, “I’m writing to urge you to join me in saving the lives of some of the world’s most vulnerable children. And I’m asking you to do it right away.”

Already pledging $100,000 to match outside donations dollar-for-dollar, Madonna explained that she felt connected to Malawi’s children in a special way. “Right now, I am particularly concerned about Malawian girls whose lives are made even more difficult simply because of their gender,” she wrote.

“The girls of Malawi are bright and resourceful,” she continued. “They are eager to learn and grow. When I look at my girls and see them thriving, it is my greatest wish that the girls in Malawi will have the same chance for happiness.”

Wonderful, wonderful opportunity to make a difference in the world.

Check out the new TV spot for Madonna’s Celebration CD. The Queen of Pop’s Ultimate Hits Collection is due out next week on September 29th and features digitally remastered versions of “34 songs that changed the world” plus 2 brand new tracks. The release will also be available as a single CD as well as a Premium Version which will include the Celebration Video Collection DVD.

A Madonna fan’s dream come true – well, that and front row tickets.

Madonna Dressed as a schoolgirl

I may not agree 100 percent with the things Madonna says or the things she believes in, but there are three things I’ve always loved about her:

  1. What you see is what you get – like it, or look away.  No apologies.
  2. Her music is undeniably addictive and fun.  Fun’s always good.
  3. She has her own sense of style.  Again, like it or look away.

These pictures are of the Material Girl at the Jewish celebration of Purim at the Kabbalah Center in New York City.  Her boyfriend, Jesus Luz was with her – dressed as the Joker.  As you can tell, our girl Madonna went as a sexy schoolgirl.

Why not?
