In an edition of M magazine, Carrie Underwood once said that life wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows when she was in school. Apparently a group of girls cause trouble for her and her best friend. According to Carrie:
“There was a group of people who didn’t like me and my best friend, and they would just sit around thinking up rumors they could start about us. It was so petty. Unfortunately they made themselves feel better by putting us down. It was hard to deal with then, but now it doesn’t matter as much.”
The knowledge that she could buy and sell these people probably does put a little distance between her and old wounds.
No matter what fan base you were part of during that particular AI (Personally, I was fully emersed in Bo and Constantine’s), you have to admit Carrie’s success is amazing. And I’m very, very happy for her. She’s showing vocals on her songs that we just didn’t see on AI – except for the audition. Her cd is really great and I’m proud for her.
It’s always cool to see a singer make it sooooo big and know that you saw them from the start.
Chris Daughtry will, I KNOW, rock his way to stardom, too. If you haven’t bought his group’s cd yet – make it your #1 goal for today. Every song’s amazing – and the one where Slash plays with them, What I Want, rocks your knee caps.
Don’t ask how a post about Carrie turned into a plug for Chris…..
Mucho Success to both of them. And Mucho pleads for my boys Bo and Constantine to get off of their butts!!!! (just kidding, of course – Bo’s been sick and Constantine’s wowing them on Broadway.)
