Barring any total meltdowns, this should be one of the funnest AI seasons ever. So much talent!
It’s ironic, some of these contestants are coming under scrutinism because they either had a previous contract, were in a band, or opened for another performer. I honestly don’t think the criticism is fair. If they aren’t making a living right now recording (and they wouldn’t be on AI if they were), I think they’re eligible.
Besides, Taylor Hicks and Sanjaya nearly destroyed the integrity of American Idol. You could almost say they nearly destroyed the show altogether! It’s about time the judges presented us with this many talented singers in the top 24.

Danny’s also a favorite, but I wish he’d chosen a different song. He had fun, though, and that should count for something! Can’t wait to see the girl’s performances tonight – I hope they’re as good as the guys were.
