AI is ordering everyone who is using mp3s and screenshots from “the show” to take them down immediately. Everyone has been told to remove everything or face consequences. “The show’s” lawyers are contacting the webmasters and webmistresses with warning-infused letters. (By the way, although they’re catching all kinds of heat, it isn’t the lawyers fault, they are just doing their job. I’m sure the last thing they want to do is threaten non-criminals, many whom are below the age of 18.)
After seeing “the show” in action before, I’m not that surprised – what surprises me is the fact that there are some really young kids that they’re playing hardball with. Kids that haven’t done a darned thing other than watch their show, shoot their ratings through the roof, and cause an amazing online community of support for “the show.”
Seems they don’t want their logo appearing on these sites. Thought that was the reason behind having a logo – exposure. If you don’t want it seen, why in the hell bother having a logo in the first place?!!
Anyway, a lot of people are crashing their sites, others are just removing everything remotely associated with American Idol. It’s really a big fat shame, this show – with it’s premise of making your dreams come true and their blend of talent and fun – brings people of all ages together. You see websites ran by teenagers and websites ran by people over 50, then you see both groups on message boards talking about their favorites. Supporting the show as well as the stars that make the show.
Heck, it’s these people who are doing the voting – pretty much keeping the show on the air in the first place!!!!
But, it’s their show and their logo and their right to slap any hands that they think try to touch either one of them. Thing is, those touches were actually pats on the back….THEIR touches are something altogether different in the back.

What a shame… the fact that American Idol fails to realize that we are just some really devoted fans is a bad call on their part. I think that not having websites such as these with the ability to post mp3′s and pictures their fanbase will diminish. I am so depressed I won’t be able to make my banners and icons now… what a shame… bad move American Idol guys, bad move.
