When I was grabbing the Rihanna poster for a few posts back, I searched out a few of my other faves. This poster of Fergie was so amazing I HAD to post it. (Even if it does make me want to shoot my face off for eating two doughnuts this morning.)

Santa, how about a treadmill? God, how about a sudden hatred of doughnuts? And fries. And cookies. And soft drinks….

Thanks, Fergie.

In the new issue of Spin, Bruce Springsteen discusses competition: “I am not competing with anyone - I don’t put a record out and think it has to go up against 50 Cent,” says Springsteen. Another nice touch: Springsteen gives props to Rihanna, and her rain gear. “Pop records are fun - (Rihanna’s) ‘Umbrella’ I can enjoy tremendously…”

I’m all for anyone who has good things to say about Rihanna. It’s no secret that she’s a big favorite of mine, so props right back to you, “Boss.”

More From Jody Gnant

November 25, 2007

Okay, I’ll admit it, after all, I have no problem admitting my addictions. In fact, I line them up just to applaud them. Starbucks’ Green Tea Fraps with Whipped Topping and Raspberry Syrup drizzled on top, Fergie, Kanye, Peanut M&M’s, One Life to Live, Chai tea, coffee, shopping, back rubs, Dean Koontz novels, movies - they’re all things that Joi must have or Joi would just…well…I don’t know what lives on the other side of “or” - never been there!

Another addiction has joined the group - Jody Gnant’s voice. I’m totally addicted to this girl’s singing. It’s just beautiful. Here’s another video featuring yet another amazing song from Pivot.

By the by, how cool is Jody? She left a very sweet, gracious comment after my first post about her music. Love that!

Panic! At the Disco Pictures from November 15, 2007

November 24, 2007

Panic! At the Disco (one of the greatest names for a group anywhere, anytime anyway) was also at the Grand Opening Of Guitar Center In Las Vegas on November 15, 2007. Is it time to hear something new from this deliciously original group or what? Another killer video would be sweet right about now.

Members of the group Adelitas Way performed at the Grand Opening Of Guitar Center In Las Vegas - November 15, 2007.

Click HERE for their MySpace page. Personally, I think they’ll be the next breakthrough group, so memorize their faces - you’ll be seeing them again. Listen to their songs on their MySpace, you’ll be a believer, too.

To read a review of their CD, Adelitas Way, to buy the CD, or to just hear a little more from them - click HERE.

You have to hear these guys - you won’t forget them.

Fergie’s Seeing Green

November 20, 2007

In an upcoming issue of Allure Magazine, Fergie tells how she sold her Hummer for $64,199.91 on eBay and donated all of the money to the environmental group Global Green USA.

The environmentally-aware star is currently looking for a hybrid.

Fergie, of course, won big at the American Music Awards - to the tune (ha ha) of “Pop/Rock Female Artist of the Year.” I was beyond thrilled to see her win. Duchess is front to back, top to bottom one of the best CDs I’ve ever owned. Or heard. Or seen. Or been aware of.

On a shallow note, hot dress.

Beyonce Pictures from the AMA’s

November 19, 2007

Beautiful Beyonce was awarded the International Star of the Year award at the recent American Music Awards - one of the few awards of the evening that Carrie Underwood or Daughtry didn’t win! (I was so happy for Carrie and Chris - very well deserved recognition.)

I do wish Beyonce had performed Irreplacable by herself - as in, without Sugarland anywhere near the stage. I love Sugarland and all - but…uh, yeah. Odd combination of artists, in my opinion. I’d have much rather seen Sugarland sing their beautiful new song, Stay. If you’ve never heard it - search it out. It’s amazing.

Alicia Keys Pulls a Diva Move

November 15, 2007

Y’all know I love Alicia Keys. She’s a beautiful and unbelievably talented girl. I’m not terribly crazy about a diva-like maneuver she pulled recently, though.

She was expected at a New York nightclub called Pancha for a promotional party for her new cd. Apparently the club promoters hadn’t yet paid her $4,000 of her $15,000 appearance fee.

According to the New York Daily News:

Alicia was slated for a midnight arrival, but by the time 1:30 a.m. rolled around, her bodyguards, friends and even boyfriend were all inside waiting for her. Outside, Keys drove around the neighborhood. “These promoters were digging in their pockets, looking for cash, and were still short,” said another source. “The owner of the club even offered to pay the remainder of the owed money himself, just to get her in the club.” That’s where fans who’d paid $25 a pop were waiting, says the spywitness: “One eight-months-pregnant lady, who is an Alicia Keys superfan, showed up and waited for hours just to see her.”

I’m always reading about Mariah and J-Lo and their Diva-like demands. I’d never heard anything, until now, about Alicia. I guess even the most rich and talented people in the world can be uncool sometimes.

Will I still buy her cd? You betcha! I’ve got nothing but love for her.

Amy Winehouse Continues Spinning Out of Control

November 15, 2007

Would any of you pay money to watch the train wreck above sing? I certainly wouldn’t. But apparently there were people who either didn’t know what an Amy Winehouse was or had as little regard for their money as Amy has for sobriety.

Amy Winehouse (anyone else think the last name is devilishly ironic) was literally booed off the stage in the UK last night. She tried to dedicate the concert to her husband who’s currently in jail for witness tampering. According to the poor souls who actually paid for the concert, she slurred, mumbled and stumbled her way through 4 songs. Then she blew up at the crowd for booing her - threatening them with her jailbird husband, who, for the record weighs about as much as her microphone.

The Sun Reported:

And as fans tired of the mumbling star and began booing, Amy turned on her audience. She said: “Let me tell you something. First of all, if you’re booing you’re a mug for buying a ticket. Second to all the people booing - just wait till my husband gets out.”…Dressed in a tight black miniskirt and with her see-through top showing off her black bra, at one point her boobs almost popped out after she lost her balance. Her closing number was Valerie but before she got to the end she stopped singing, dropped the microphone and walked off stage. Fan James Dyas was one of those who walked out demanding his money back. He said: “She came on stage half an hour late. She managed four songs but was slurring her words and swaying all over the place. She fell into the guitar stand and dropped the microphone - it was atrocious. The song she dedicated to her husband was so bad it was like swinging a cat round your head.”

This little fool makes Britney look like Natalie Portman.
