The American Idol’s Tour

by staff on June 15, 2007

Are these cute, or what? Melinda looks just like her - So adorable!!! The Sligh fox looks a great deal like him, too. Blake’s really the only one I don’t see too much of a resemblance in. They should have given him more edge - with maybe a stripe in his hair or something.

Freaking unforgivable not to have Chris Rich with him, too!

Eh, it’s still a cute pic and you can’t have everything!

This Idol’s tour should be one of the best ones ever. There’s so much talent and so many different genres covered - ought to be a blast. I hope the Cake fans flock to every appearance….and make themselves HEARD and FELT!

Kelly Clarkson Proves She’s Miss Independent, Indeed!

by staff on June 14, 2007

With just two weeks to go before the release of her much-anticipated (and recently leaked) third album, My December, Kelly Clarkson fired her management team Monday night (June 11). Reportedly, internal bickering between SonyBMG and Kelly Clarkson over hersongwriting and direction of My December led to the split.

The ex-management team issued a statement on June 12 saying, ”Kelly Clarkson is an enormously talented artist. We are pleased to have served as her managers during her well-deserved rise to stardom and are proud of the role we played in backing her creative choices. We believed in Kelly from the day we met her and believe in her now. We have only the best wishes and hopes for her in the future.”

The bickering has already affected radio play of ”Never Again.” It was getting great response on radio stations, but has kind of stalled on the charts lately. Experts are also predicting that her cd will flop and flop big.
Earlier this year, Kelly said, ”I know it’s not going to do what Breakaway did, ’cause it’s not as mainstream. I get that. Some of the songs are not what 10-year-olds are probably going to listen to.”
Most agree that the fighting between Clive Davis (head of her label) and her management team will hurt sales. When the people who are supposed to stand behind you are doing so with knives in their hands - things get ugly fast!

I don’t mean to sound nasty or anything, but Clive Davis is, like 345 years old, and he’s trying to tell Kelly what young people today want to listen to? I think she has a pretty good idea! Her music and her songs are about strength - the same can be said for Pink’s music, Beyonce’s, Eve’s, Sheryl Crowe’s, Avril’s, and Christina’s. There’s nothing wrong with strength….it seems though, sometimes, the males in the biz panic over female singers showing this side of themselves. They’d rather them make weak, wimpy little songs, I guess.
Some are even suggesting that this drama may keep her cd away from the public even longer. One source suggests that the album, if it hasn’t made its way to the pressing plant yet, may actually get shelved so that Clarkson and Clive Davis, can reconsider some of the tracks. ”It’s not too late,” says the source. ”The label was supportive of Kelly in terms of putting the song out, but this album can’t flop. She needs to get the right advice and counsel.”

For Kelly’s sake - and the sake of future artists who have the guts to do it their way - I hope this cd is a monster hit.

Ace Young and Aaron Carter Share the Love

by staff on June 11, 2007

Ace Young and Aaron Carter joined hundreds of patients and their families at the 16th annual “Celebrate Life with Hope,” part of National Cancer Survivors’ Day on June 10, 2007 (Sunday).

The celebration is the largest event for pediatric cancer survivors in the Western United States and provides patients, caregivers and former patients from the Childrens Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles a chance to reunite with each other.

John Mayer Quote

by staff on June 9, 2007

John Mayer recently had a pretty funny quote. He was kind of poking fun at the Carrie Underwood song, Before He Cheats.

“Maybe he’s not cheating. Maybe he kind of broke up with you and you’re not hearing it.”

Men. They always stick together - even when one of them’s a fictional SOB.

Rihanna News

by staff on June 6, 2007

Rihanna recently told Complex what she thinks gives her an edge in Hollywood:

“I’m just not the type to get sucked into bull****. Everyone has control of what they do as an individual. I’m very sure about who I am as a person and what I am here to do. I’m here in L.A., but I’m still not ‘here in L.A.’ I come from a very different place, and it gives me an advantage.”

Like alot of singers, Rihanna also has her eye on acting: “I’ve read a few scripts. I haven’t gone for anything yet, but I’d really want to do an action movie. Like an Aeon Flux or Matrix or Underworld. I love those movies.”

I can see it.
