Amazing Wax Figures of Justin Timberlake and Others

June 28, 2007

These are freaking amazing. The wax figure of Justin Timberlake looks dead on like him - so does the one of Madonna, Paris and Christina. I haven’t seen Usher in so long, but if memory serves his looks a lot like him. But, Jessica? Not so much. She’s way prettier.

Click each one to see better. I just can’t get over Wax Justin - he even stands like him!

Jordin Sparks and Blake Lewis Rumors

June 27, 2007

A few rumors have been making the rounds about ‘American Idol’ winner Jordin Sparks and runner-up Blake Lewis. TMZ recently spotted them holding hands in L.A., which added to the buzz.

In an interview with AIM, Jordin put the rumors to rest:
“No, Blake is one of my best friends, but we don’t see each other like that,” she says. “Yes, we hold hands, but we DON’T see each other that way. Yes, he’s cute, duh, [but] he’s also 8-9 years older than me. He’s like an older brother.”

I love her quote, “Yes, he’s cute, duh…..”

The pics in this post are from Jordin and Blake’s visit to TRL in May. Click each t-nail to see the larger versions. Cuties!

Always a Good Time For Chris Daughtry!

June 22, 2007

In the mood for some Chris Daughtry? I know you are!

He and a few others are proving you don’t have to be the last one standing on the stage to have the most success. There was a group of ridiculously talented people that year. And I don’t think for one second that we’ve heard the last of Paris either. That adorable little girl could sing her butt off!

I am SO anxious for Ace Young’s cd - you know it’s going to be mind-blowing. It won’t be long before he’ll be on the radio along with Elliott, Kat, Bucky, Kellie, and Mr. Daughtry. In our area, we hear Daughtry and Bucky on the radio every single time we turn it on. Elliott’s been on a few times - great voice. Kellie’s first song got a lot of airtime, which is good because I’d never get tired of hearing it. As for my girl Kat, I think her CD’s great - I listen to it and get totally lost in her lyrics. I think her next one will be more of a commercial success….after, that is, she’s through with her movie. How cool does that sound?

By the way, I’d like to thank the readers who leave comments here on the blog - you’re a cool group of people. There are a few nasty nellies, of course - but for the most part you’re always cool about your comments, even when we disagree on things. And, face it, in a world where firemen are killed doing their (heroic) job, children have needs that aren’t met, and people are dying every day in a war that continues to rip families apart - whether I like or dislike Taylor Hicks is a totally mute and trivial point.

I’m not the only one, for crying out loud, who knows he wasn’t the best singer that year - or any year. My own personal favorites were Chris, Ace, Bucky, Kellie and Kat. So, naturally, I’ll give them more coverage on the blog. I’m proud of the success each is having and will continue to have, and I’m also impressed with their fanbases - they are considerate and respectful of other fanbases.

I think what they say is right, fanbases often mirror the person they center around.

At any rate, I more than welcome a wide range of opinions. Just expect me to have my own as well, ‘kay?

Zac Efron and Hairspray

June 19, 2007

Are you getting psyched about Hairspray? It’ll hit theaters on July 20th, which kind of seems like two forevers away. It should be worth the wait, though - it looks like it’ll be pretty amazing.

Check out one of the songs Zac Efron will sing in it called Ladie’s Choice on Zac-e.com. Scroll down a little until you see the “Radio” on the right…. I’m actually listening to the song right now - Love it!

While I think the movie will be huge, I have a feeling Zac is going to be monsterous.

Kat McPhee Disrespected AGAIN

June 17, 2007

Those of us who are Katharine McPhee fans always have a fight on our hands! Not because of her, of course - she’s as flawless as her face. It’s the way others treat her - like AI having every other person in the top 4 from last year on the show BUT her. Now a radio DJ is getting prissy and pissy.

Kat was interviewed by an intern named Ally on Hot 99.5’s The Kane Morning Show. The interview was supposed to be in the studio and the station had agreed that McPhee wouldn’t be asked any personal questions. When Katharine didn’t show up at the studio — handlers explained that her flight had been delayed. One of the first questions the intern asked the 23-year-old singer was about her 42-year-old boyfriend. This Ally person apparently didn’t have a clue what personal meant. She asked if having a boyfriend who was so much older hurt or helped the relationship. Not only is it a personal question, it’s a stone cold stupid question!!! Obviously irritated, Kat said she didn’t want to discuss her private life and the interview sucked wind from there.

Angry fans deluged Kane with hate mail. “Maybe she should have been nicer and been live as she promised,” the coolness that is Kane responded.

The angry calls and e-mails kept coming (YES!!!), and Coolness shot back a lengthy response. “I’m getting increasingly frustrated by e-mails from McPhee fans that don’t know the whole story and are writing me angry e-mails.” He further scolded, “It makes Kat look bad when ever other word in your e-mail about how you thought we didn’t handle the interview professionally starts with an f—.”

How. For. The. Love. Of. God. Does having passionate fans who are willing to fight for you make a singer look bad?

Moron.

When reminded of the NO PERSONAL QUESTIONS agreement, he had a great response: “Slam us, go-head,” Kane wrote. “We agreed to have her on; we followed the rules. They didn’t tell the truth. Kat could have had a little more fun with Ally. She could have said, ‘You guys know you’re not supposed to ask me personal questions. What’s wrong with you?’ Rather, she just got mad.”

“They didn’t tell the truth”????

“We followed the rules”????

“…..she just got mad”????

How amazing would it be if American Idol came to her defense and said that she’s either given an on air apology or they’ll do all they can to make sure Idols never appear on their show again? Yeah, I know it’ll never happen….but how cool would it be?

Ryan Seacrest Blames Simon Cowell for American Idol’s Ratings

June 17, 2007

Even though it’s still a monster hit, American Idol suffered a decline in ratings during the recent season. In a “How wrong could he be” type statement, Ryan Seacrest is pointing fingers at Simon.

When asked about the drop, Canada’s Globe and Mail reports that Seacrest replied, “Well, the knee-jerk reaction would be Simon.”

He says there’s just too much of the acid-tongued judge: “Clearly there’s an over saturation of his character.” When asked about rumors that Fox wants to change some of the “Idol” judges. “That’s clearly rumor,” he said. “I’m positive you can’t recreate the chemistry that we have with the group on ‘American Idol.’”

This is so blatantly wrong that I find myself doubting that Ryan Seacrest ever said it. Must have been a lookalike!

Simon’s one of the most consistently amusing and entertaining things about the show. I can tell you why the ratings were down in two words:

1. Taylor

2. Sanjaya

A singing competition in which Taylor Hicks could actually be the last one standing loses all it’s credibility. He was up against the likes of Chris Daughtry, Ace Young, and Kat McPhee. Vote for the Worst handed him a title that should have gone to one of those three. Fans who had any sort of faith in the show lost it. Taylor proved that any foolish thing could happen, and that it leaves you with a sick feeling of injustice.

The fact that it came anywhere near close to happening again this year, with Sanjaya, probably sent fans who were on the fence running in the other direction. Don’t get me wrong, Sanjaya’s more likeable AND a better singer than Taylor….He also has a much better stage presence. But, still, if he had outlasted Blake, Jordin, Chris Rich, Phil, Melinda, and Lakisha - I’m not 100 percent sure I’d ever watch again.

Hopefully, Jordin and Blake (and the other amazing singers who lasted past Sanjaya) have given the show back the reputation it had pre-Taylor.

Constantine Maroulis Pictures

June 16, 2007

Constantine Online.Org has added a TON of great new Constantine pics -you have to check them all out.

Steph (the webmistress) had been swamped with her Zac Effron and Justin Timberlake sites - with both being in new movies and all, she’s had more things to add and take care of than a mere mortal can! When Constantine came out in all of these event photos, she dropped everything to add them. Coolness, indeed.

Click HERE for the website, the newest galleries are mentioned in the post.

BTW, did you see Constantine present in the Daytime Emmy Awards last night? He was a pro, of course, and did a great job…better than a lot of them who’d been doing this for years!

Great Fergie Pictures

June 16, 2007

My girl Fergie was the hostess with the mostest when she hosted the UMM Magazine and Bobbi Magazine Party
on June 15 in Canada.

Notice how she always has a beautiful golden glow? I recently read that she combines self tanner with moisturizer to get the look. Worth trying??? Worth trying!!!
