Chris Daughtry Has the Last Laugh While Taylor IS the Last Laugh

Simon Cowell recently said that he “couldn’t stand” season 5’s (still have trouble saying this) winner Taylor Hicks. He went on to point out that Chris Daughtry is the one who sold the albums. Gee I wonder why….

Taylor made what would pass for a response to In Touch Magazine: “I think Simon is a secret fan of mine. We’ve always been tit for tat. The studio is his forte, live performing is mine.” Ha ha. There was no tit for tat, silly rabbit - you made a dork of yourself, Simon called you on it.

Being the worst was your forte - which is how you earned the Vote for the Worst votes - which is, of course, how you won the competition. Luckily for you there were enough people who were more interested in cursing America with a joke than they were in giving us an idol we could have been proud of - like Chris, Katharine or Ace.

I’ve said it before (and before that, and before that, and before that!), but if you haven’t bought the Daughtry CD - go grab one. Every song is amazing. And I’m only saying that because it’s the truth.

Cupid Has More News!

I don’t know Jack about Lauren Conrad (see last post), so I can’t get overly excited one way or another about her and Chris Richardson going out - but these two people are two of my favorites, so I’m excited about this romance report!

Superstars Rihanna and Omarion are a supercouple in the making. They’ve been dating casually for about two and a half months.

An insider told In Touch Magazine, “The connection was instant. They’ve been seeing each other whenever they’re both in LA - going to the movies and dinners. Things are heating up.”

What’s Blake going to think?!

In Touch Magazine is reporting that American Idol contestant Chris Richardson and The Hills star Lauren Conrad were seen getting cozy on April 6 in an LA hotspot. A friend of Lauren’s told the magazine that the two were actually on their first date.

The friend went on to say that Lauren thought Chris was, “Totally hot.”

Justin Timberlake In the British GQ

Justin Timberlake says he no longer takes award shows seriously. After a year in which he didn’t win a shelf full of Grammy’s for Future Sex/Love Sounds, that makes two of us. He told Britain’s GQ magazine: “I used to care about those awards and trophies - maybe when I was younger. Come on, it’s all a load of bulls**t, right?”

Let’s see, The Dixie Chicks were awarded the biggest Grammy of them all? Bulls**t’s sums it up beautifully.

Justin was one of the highlights of this year’s Grammys, but he seems to regret performing on the show.

He was quoted as saying: “I view the Grammys the same way as I see my deal with McDonald’s. I regret the McDonald’s deal. I don’t regret doing the Grammys entirely but I wish I hadn’t put so much of myself into it.

“It’s kind of interesting. Just like the McDonald’s deal, whose market share went up 25 per cent when I walked into those offices and changed their image. When I did the Grammys, the viewing figures went up by 25 per cent. Funny, isn’t it?”

The only thing funny is the fact that more people aren’t lining up to snatch JT up as a spokesman. He’s one of the few remaining stars who I actually pay attention to when they speak. And for the music industry not to reward one of their brightest stars - and many could make a case for him being the brightest - is brain dead.

Brain dead - as in, beneath the functions of Paris Hilton’s brain. On a good day.
