Shakira shook everything Shakira has on the Today show today. I’m not sure you could call her voice the prettiest on the radio, but she has so much energy and passion - and seems to be a total sweetherart - you just can’t help but be a fan.

Chris Daughtry and Katharine McPhee Get the Top Votes!

FINALLY - the votes played out just like they should have! Chris and Katharine were obviously the best of the night, and they were the top vote-getters.

Everything, at this moment anyway, is perfectly-aligned in the Idol Universe.

Paula even made sense to me last night. So she was either sober or I’ve lost what little bit of mind I had.

He has shot the video for his single, “Gallery,” off of his Arista Records debut. The album is scheduled for release this summer (2006). CAN’T WAIT!

Update to Chris Daughtry Central

I just added two new pics to Chris Daughtry Central (The one above is one of them!). Arghhh - the six should be: Chris, Ace, Mandisa, Bucky, Paris, and who gives a damn the others are better.

Nah, let’s give that spot to Elliott. I’m still ticked at the way the school girls and the ham acted on the last result’s show.

Okay, I can finally talk about it without name-calling, threats, curses, and ranting. Well, I’ll try.

American Idol has all the makings of being the greatest modern show ever - right there with Survivor. If the show would just quit manipulationg the votes! It happens every year - they get the one or two contestants that they want to go further than the rest, then they showcase and prop them - even when there are obviously FAR, FAR better singers in the group.

I would think the show would want the best of the best to represent them. Once again, they let one get away. The judges never really gave Ace Young a fair shot. They did him pretty much the way they did Constantine. Which is outrageous because both guys are loaded with charisma and talent. In the end, I think they’ll both be huge - who knows, maybe even bigger than they would’ve been had they won. Hopin’ so.

Just a few thoughts:

I hated the little gratuitous, swarmy routine Taylor put on when Ryan told him to pick a side. I think he’s a ridiculous ham and I’m way sick of him.

Katharine and Kelly, IMO, should have contained their glee. They acted like school girls when their group was announced as the safe one. Maybe it was as big a shock to them as it was to everyone else, but they should’ve acted a little more mature and classy. The way they giddily walked by the other 3 smiling ear to ear and patting on them without a hint of sincerity makes me really, really hope that Paris and Chris are the final 2. I think they’re the best of the six anyway. Katharine has a great voice, but IMO, she doesn’t have the spark that Paris has.

I usuually love Kelly’s personality and spirit, but this is a singing competition and this girl misses more notes than she hits. She’s fun and adorable - no one can deny that. But if there were a World Idol and she represented our country - as the best of our best. Oy. Of course it could be worse, we could be represented by the ham. Shivers.

Great Mandisa Pic and Last Night’s American Idol

Last night was pretty awesome, but I kept thinking how Mandisa should’ve been there. Can you imagine what she’d have done with that genre? She’d have banged it - that’s all.

They should’ve had this music earlier in the competition - I would like to have heard what Gedeon, Ayla, Lisa, Kevin, Will, David, and YES, my Brenna would’ve done.

I thought Chris, Ace, and Katharine gave the best performances. They were each absolutely flawless.

I thought Kellie was another hightlight of the evening. No, not the performance, for the love of God and goodness. The song had some rough patches (as a Kellie fan, I’m being kind!), but the way she acted afterward - being honest and self-depreciating - I thought was adorable. She’s a breath of fresh air and makes the show funner than it’d be without her. Sue me, I think she’s a huge part of the reason this season’s been such a blast - I can’t even imagine it without her. Love her energy, attitude, and (usually!) her voice.

I hated Taylor’s hammy performance - when he gets all spastic I can’t even watch. Listening’s bad enough. I mean, Kellie had a bad night - Taylor’s had, like, 7.

I think the bottom 3 should be: Elliott, Paris, and Taylor - But with Taylor’s yet to be understood fanbase, I’m sure he won’t even come close to the bottom 3. It’s almost like he knows it, too - each week when everyone else seems nervous, he sits there like the cat that ate all the cat food. How I’d love to see his tail stepped on one week!

As If Jessica Doesn’t Have Enough Freaks to Deal With - Lindsay Lohan Joins the Mix

You’re a mean one, Mister Grinch….

Blogging on Jessica Simpson’s travils is quickly becomming a full-time job. Is this girl a magnet for every psycho freak in the world or what?!

Okay, here’s the latest:

Jessica and director, Brett Ratner, are having a meal together - minding their own business. Apparently they’re deep in a conversation. Loondsay Lohan has drinks sent to the table. Before Jessica or Brett can thank her, storms to the bathroom and rants, raves, and whines to her friends (Frankly I’m just amazed she has any left.) Later, a very angry Lohan corners Jessica and bitches her out - yelling and even challenging her to a fight! Jessica, who, unlike her attacker, doesn’t feast daily on fits of anger and psychoses, was in tears.

Come to find out, Loondsay was apparently jealous (With. Freakin’. Good. Reason.) - Jessica and Brett were being very warm and friendly and the Loon wanted his attention. People who were there report just how crazed Lohan was. You’d think she had enough on her plate - tring not to be the biggest addict in Hollywood while trying to decide if she wants to out-skinny Mary Kate and Ashley. With her two brain cells, that’s about all she can handle at any given time, you know.

Jessica is just the latest in a string of young ladies the Loon has fought with. In January, she scrawled (with her claws like all cats) nasty words about Scarlett Johansson on a bathroom wall at an NYC club. Sources say she was jealous of Scarlett’s previous relationship with Jared Leto.

Lohan has also sparred with both Hilary and Haylie Duff.

She lashed out many times at Ashlee Simpson - convincing herself that Ashlee was after Jared Leto. I like Ashlee’s style - calling the nut out in a great song - “I Didn’t Steal Your Boyfriend!” - in which she basically asks her, “When will you be getting a life of your own and losing your deranged obsession with mine?”

Pink, who mocked the Loon’s poor driving record - among other achievments - in “Stupid Girls” was set to “serenade” Lohan, in fun, at the Kid’s Choice Awards - but Lohan had her seat switched at the last minute. Can’t really blame her for that one, I guess - Why would she want Pink suggesting that she’s a stupid girl when she can go out and prove it herself almost daily.

This girl needs therapy.
