Becky O’Donahue

Although one of my favorites, Becky O’Donahue didn’t make it as far as she should have, I think the whole experience AI experience will launch her to household name status. The camera loves her as though she’s the only girl in the world and she seems to be bright and colorful as well. Her personality would, I think, be perfect for work on a reality show.

A lot of people who liked her as well as I did are wondering if her Maxim pictorial hastened AI to get rid of her. Some are saying that they were afraid that the exposure would cause some people to vote for her on the strength of her shape rather than the shape of her vocals. I don’t know, I don’t think anyone needed the old Maxim pics to show them that she was a knock out. Not like she could hide the fact, you know. But AI is kind of odd about some things - I mean, their hate on for Constantine is obvious and completely unfounded. He brought in amazing ratings and caused a great deal of excitement.

Oh well, water under the bridge and that sort of thing. Below are some great pics that I’ve rounded up of Becky - click on each for a larger view. Nasty Nick and His Whiny Ass Ways

Webster was a prophet, he nailed Nick Lachey years before he was even born.

Nick Lachey is the loser who was married to America’s sweetheart, beautiful Jessica Simpson. He has as much character as a tree frog, though, so she’s moved on. Or, at least she’s trying to.

The problem is, everywhere she goes, Nick the –ick is standing with his hand out. It was bad enough when he wanted HER money…the L was already obvious on his forehead…. now he wants back all the gifts he gave her while they were married. What. A. Loser.

Little Nicky not only wants spousal support, he wants all his toys back!

The girl has worked hard for her money. It’s her money! As for his toys, she should gladly give them back. I kind of think she’ll be getting plenty of gifts in the future….from real men, so good riddance to the boy and his toys.

I’m sure the creep’s eyes got huge when the details of Jessica’s new movie came out. She’ll be making one million dollars for her role in “Employee of the Month.” And, get this, she only has 806 words in the whole movie. Apparently she’s worth it, though, she’ll put butts in the theater seats and money in the producer’s pockets….so more power to her.

By the way, if any of Nick’s fans take offense to this post - I apologize….to both of you.

The American Idol Results

The results for this week’s American Idol kind of shocked me. I expected Bobby and Patrick (even though Patrick is much more talented than his last performance showed.) to make their exits, and I was afraid that enough people wouldn’t get Stevie’s ethereal performance…but Becky the Beautiful earning the lowest number of votes (for the females) totally caught me off guard.

I was prepared for the worst - and fully expected another of my favorites, Brenna, to get an early ticket home. After all, her whole sunshine performance left even me yawning….but Becky I just knew would get another chance to improve. Arrggh. Love this show, but it can get frustrating!

You know the way Vonzell just kept getting better last year? It was amazing to watch her grow and improve with each performance, and by the end of the road - the girl was amazing! Well, that’s the sort of potential I saw in Becky AND Stevie. (I think it’s in Ayla and Brenna as well.) I totally hate that we won’t get to see either of these girls go further in the competition. I would have bet money on Heather and Melissa going before either one of them.

Oh well, Brenna’s safe for now! I’m thrilled about that. I don’t think this season would have nearly as much spirit without her. You never know what she’s going to come up with next, and you can tell by the look in her eyes that she’s always up to something. I really, really, really hope her next performance is better so she can stick around. No more sunshine-y songs!

The Men’s Turn!

With a really, really hard act to follow, the guys take the stage tonight….I doubt it’s cooled down from last night, though!

It’s ironic, last year I thought it was the men’s year - with Bo,Constantine, Nikko, Anwar, and Mario… I thought one of them would surely win. Frankly I didn’t think a female stood a chance. (Although I was proven wrong, I still think it should have been one of the guys! But, shhhh, don’t tell the Carrie fans…)

Well, this year, I think the girls are amazingly loaded with talent - I think there are about 6 different females who could win this thing….while I think there’s probably 4 of the guys that could.

Two of these guys have new websites I’d love for you to check out. They’re brand new, of course, and are actually still in the process of being pulled together….but we wanted DESPERATELY for them to be launced on today, before the performances tonight…. So, launched they’ll be - 100% finished or not!!!

The Ladies on American Idol Last Night….

Talk about tough acts to follow - the ladies couldn’t have made it any tougher on the guys. How incredible were Katharine, Paris, Mandisa, Becky, Ayla, and Lisa??!!

Love them muchly, but I didn’t think Brenna or Kellie did their best last night. I’ve seen their best and it didn’t resemble last night’s very much. Especially Brenna. Her personality blows me away - I adore this gal! But last night it’s like she forgot who she was. She seemed to think she was Carrie or Diana…..

Come on, Brenna, leave the blowing sunshine up people’s butts for people who do that sort of thing - that’s not you. Get back to the Brenna who makes me sit on the edge of my couch waiting for what she’s going to do next!

As for Heather, Kinnik, Stevie, and Melissa…. I think they’re each honestly very beautiful and talented. And each one of them has an amazing personality (all the girls do this year!)…but I’ve all ready forgotten their performances. I kind of wish they had one more shot, though - to see what each would be capable of now that the jitters may be out of the way.

The Men’s Performances!

They came, they saw, they conquered! Well, at least some of the men, that is!

Chris, Ace, Bucky, and Taylor were flawless and even better than I was expecting. Each one sang a song that fit him perfectly and did it to perfection. I was very, very, very impressed.

I’ve always been a fan of A.B. and C., but that was the first time I saw in Taylor what others have been seeing.

I look forward to hearing what each guy will do next!

Tonight’s Ladies Night!

Tonight the fun really begins! It’s ladies night on American Idol as the 12 begin their descent to 6. Below is a little something about each girl as well as a picture.

Paris Bennett: 17 yr old from Georgia. She opened for Bow Wow, is a skilled dancer, loves Sponge Bob SquarePants, Beyonce and Usher.

Ayla Brown: 17 yr old from Massachusetts. Will attend Boston College this year on a full basketball scholarship. Love her taste in music: Whitney Houston (One of my ALL TIME faves), Christina Aguilera, Luther Vandross and Josh Groban.

Heather Cox: 22 yr old from North Carolina. Has an accounting degree and has competed in track and field. She listens to Mariah, Whitney and Stevie Wonder.

Brenna Gathers: Gorgeous 25 yr old New Yorker. She has a black belt in Shotokan Karate, has graduated college and likes to cook, sew, paint, and play Scrabble. Gotta admit, she’s a favorite of mine, and I don’t think this season of AI will be nearly as fun if she doesn’t make it.

Mandisa: Also gorgeous and also a favorite! She’s a 29 yr old from Tennessee with a music degree and has performed with Shania and Faith. Her favorite artists are Justin Timberlake, Alicia Keys, John Legend, Stevie Wonder, India Arie, and Beyonce.

Melissa McGhee: 21 yr old Floridian. She enjoys dancing and going to the beach. (As Napoleon would say, “Luck-y!”) She likes Kelly Clarkson and Jason Mraz.

Katharine McPhee: Favorite #3 is from California and is 21 years old. She likes Whitney and Brian McKnight. Her mother is a voice coach. What a pupil!

Becky Donahue: Ridiculously beautiful Becky is favorite #4 and is a 25 year old New Yorker. She and I have the same favorite female singer, Gwen Stefani. She also likes Justin Timberlake. She played basketball in college and has a 27″ vertical leap.

Kellie Pickler: Adorable, talkative Kellie is Favorite #5 and is from North Carolina. She likes Kelly Clarkson and Keith Urban and claims to be able to burp like a man. Hmmm…. This might be a good time to point out that she’s only 19. By the time she’s 29, she’ll probably be like, “Why in the world did I say that?!”

Stevie Scott: 19 yr old Californian. Incredible musical taste for someone so young, she likes Joss Stone, Jewel, MIchael Buble’, Gavin DeGraw, and Josh Groban. I really haven’t seen much of, or about, this girl, but I like her style. She’s studying music in college and plays the guitar and piano.

Kinnik Sky: 28 yr old Georgia girl who likes Usher and Toni Braxton (again, great taste!). She acts professionally in theater productions.

Lisa Tucker: The youngest of the girls is 16 yrs old and comes from California. She likes Whitney, Mariah, John Legend, Michael Jackson, and Stevie Wonder. She was voted one of Variety’s top young talents to watch.

I have 5 favorites and I know the odds aren’t great that they’ll each make the cut this week…..but my fingers are crossed! There are several I’m considering devoting a website to, but frankly I’m going to see who makes it into the final 12!

Dumb and Dumber a.k.a. Britney and K-Fed

Britney and K-fed have taken over the headlines - and sent the Simpson sisters home to cool their heels.

His and Hers style:

HERS - Right after the backlash from driving with her baby in her lap,Britney recently made a trip to the ER. Her attire? Shorts and pink boots. Her ailment? “Stomach cramps.” There had been rumors flying around that D & D were expecting another baby, but her rep claims that the trip and cramps were the result of Britney “coming down with a cold.” Only Lindsay Lohan would go to the ER with a cold….of course she’d then isist on sticking around for a week.

Anyway, I’m not sure what Lindsay’s doing showing up in a Brit and K-fed post…

HIS - While Brit and her pink boots were at the hospital, the little boy was playing. No, not the baby. Kevin.

K-fed was “playing war games” with camouflage-wearing friends at an apartment complex near LA. Neighbors were reportedly very upset by all the rubber pellets from air guns, flying around hitting buildings and cars….

The Final 24

I couldn’t be happier with the 24 who made it through. Chris, Katharine, Ace, Brenna, Bucky, Ayla, Mandisa, David, and Paris… No evil twins and no Tyra - color me thrilled!

I loved the way Mandisa dealt with Simon. The lady has class as well as sass - a lethal combination. I also loved Katharine’s reaction. I think we’re seeing the beginning of a super star with this girl. Personally, I think she could easily be the next Kelly Clarkson.

Can’t wait for the performances. This American Idol season oughta be good. After last season, with Bo, Constantine, Anwar, Nikko, Jessica, Vonzell and Mario-while-he-lasted, I was afraid AI had peaked and would never be that good again, but they went out and rounded up some amazing talent and personalities. I just hope the best make it to the final 12.

Britney’s Latest

Britney Spears was recently photographed driving with her infant son in her lap, but charges won’t be pressed against her. Apparently it’s something that a deptuty has to see with his/her own eyes. Photographic evidence just isn’t good enough.

What a difference there is between brain cells that function and those that don’t. I can’t imagine ever seeing Angelina Jolie driving with one of her children in her lap.
