Big & Rich and Cowboy Troy

by staff on November 16, 2005

Big and Rich performed - sounded great, as usual….and Cowboy Troy presented along with Wynonna.

I love myself some Cowboy Troy. If you don’t have his CD, go out and get it…you can wait until tomorrow, if you must, but no later!

Access Denied

by staff on November 9, 2005

OMG, I love the Simpson sisters - I’ll never run out of things to blog about while they’re around! I’ve even given my girls their own category.

Jessica’s turn.

Last night on Access Hollywood, Jessica was being interviewed by Billy Bush (the first cousin of President George W. Bush) about her new fashion line. She talked about the clothes and shopping, then Billy asked her about her therapy - something she recently told about in a Teen People interview.

Billy Bush: “You went into therapy. What was behind that decision because a lot of people do?”

Jessica: “I mean, hmm, I don’t wanna… Everybody’s asking that question…”

Then an off-camera female’s voice (belonging to her publicist) says: “I would stay away from that.”

Billy tries to explain why he asked, only to be cut off by the publicist again, who basically informs him to keep with the clothing line and shoes.

Oddly enough, later in the interview, Billy asks her about some of her charity work:

Billy: “Tell me quickly if you can about Operation Smile, which is a terrific organization. You just made a trip to Africa, didn’t you?”

Jessica: “I did. It was a wonderful great trip that taught me a lot about myself. It just puts life into perspective. I met so many amazing kids. We went into hospitals and did surgeries then we were out on safari and all of kinds of stuff. It was really a beautiful time for me.”

Billy: “Did you see anything in particular?”

The voice: “That’s it. No other questions.”

Jessica shrugs and says, “Sorry, I gotta listen to my peeps.”

Get this, according to his personal blog, Billy was even called (and blasted) by Jessica’s father as he was headed home.

Genesis - Another Beginning?

by staff on November 8, 2005

Phil Collins says he’s open to the idea of a Genesis reunion. The 54 year old singer, who’s touring the Middle East recently said:

“There’s a possibility. I’m open for it. If it doesn’t happen, it won’t be because we don’t want to. It will just be because there are too many things in the way, I’m happy to sit behind the drum kit and let Peter (Gabriel) be the singer, but if it happens, I’ll be there.”

Genesis was together from 1967 to 1998 - more than 30 years. Phil Collins was the lead singer from 1975 to 1996. Before him, Peter Gabriel sang lead. Gabriel left the group for a solo career in 1975. Collins followed suit in 1996.

“We’re all still good friends. We spent like 30 or 25 years of our life in the same office. Just because we don’t play in the same band anymore doesn’t mean we don’t see each other and enjoy each other’s company.”

Baby Talk

by staff on November 7, 2005

Rumors have been flying that ridiculously beautiful Beyoncé is expecting a ridiculously beautiful baby. She has denied the rumor several times.

However, when the New York Daily News asked Jay-Z if he’d like to set the record straight about the baby talk, he said, “Nahhh. Write what you want. Sell papers!”

A pregnancy is one of those things you can’t hide forever, so time will most definitely tell!

Makes Her Wanna LaLa on the Counter…

by staff on November 5, 2005

Okay, my girl Ashlee has stepped down from her nut. She was in Toronto promoting her great new CD, I am Me. She goes into a McDonald’s for a bite to eat.

Sounds normal so far. Hang on.

At some point, she climbs onto the counter and asks to see the manager. Then she scolds some poor guy for not kissing her feet. Click HERE to see the weirdness for yourself. I feel for the poor guy trying to hold her back.

If the Simpson girls get in a battle of trying to take headlines from one another, we’re all in trouble.

There are far too few entertainers like Gwen, Beyonce, Faith, and Usher who just do the job without any crys for attention. They may not be on the front page of every paper or headline every gossip column, but they have people’s respect.

Then again what would bloggers have to blog about?

Do Electric Guitars Make You Sing ?

by Steph on November 4, 2005

A new blog called Electric Guitar Review is out and it’s the only place you have to go to find out if Fender or Stratocaster is the hottest.

A friend of ours, Cary Miller, a 20 year veteran of the guitar wars is blogging the strings off of all things guitar.

Go by and check out the blog and subscribe to his RSS feed.

Tell him Mike sent you and that Mike is a big Gretsch guy.

Simon Says Carrie

by staff on November 4, 2005

Some Hearts by Carrie Underwood

Carrie Underwood’s CD, Some Hearts is set for release on November 15. Simon is probably chomping at the proverbial bit, so CMT has something set up just for him. If he clicks HERE he can go on and pre-order the thing.

If he clicks HERE he can see the duet Carrie sang with Jamie Oneal.

If he clicks HERE or HERE or HERE he can see three who could’ve and should’ve won.

I’m actually looking forward to hearing her CD. If the songs are right for her, she’ll probably sound good. I just don’t think she should’ve won, or even come in second. Or third. Or fourth. And if Nadia had sang songs meant for her, I wouldn’t have even given the girl fifth. (Crystal Gayle?!)

Carrie does look beautiful on the cover anyway, and I do wish her the best of luck.

50 vs Kanye

by staff on November 3, 2005

50 (Like alot of us!) says he disagrees with West’s infamous statement that “George Bush doesn’t care about black people.”

50 told ContactMusic.com:

“I think people responded to it the best way they can,” . “What Kanye West was saying, I don’t know where that came from. The New Orleans disaster was meant to happen. It was an act of God.”

Personally I think Kanye was totally off base in his comments about Bush, but his new song, Golddigger, is a current favorite of mine. I could listen to that incredible song for hours on end and never get enough!
