Beautiful Kate Voegele Premiered her “99 Times” Music Video. It features Dancing With the Star’s best dancer, Derek Hough (He and Kim SO should have won!!!). This is a great song and I love the video.

Kate’s new Album, A Fine Mess, is now available and if this song is any indication, it should be something really special

If there’s ever been a more beautiful song, I can’t imagine what it’d be. Tim McGraw and Faith Hill’s voices are pure magic, especially together.

Ain’t No Rest for the Wicked Lyrics

by Joi on June 9, 2009

Ain’t No Rest for the Wicked Lyrics by Cage the Elephant

I was walking down the street,
When out the corner of my eye
I saw a pretty little thing approaching me.
She said “I’ve never seen a man
Who looks so all alone,
Could you use a little company?
If you pay the right price
Your evening will be nice,
And you can go and send me on my way.”
I said “You’re such a sweet young thing
Why you do this to yourself?”
She looked at me and this is what she said,

“Oh, there ain’t no rest for the wicked,
Money don’t grow on trees.
I got bills to pay,
I got mouths to feed,
There ain’t nothing in this world for free.
I know I can’t slow down,
I can’t hold back,
Though you know, I wish I could.
No there ain’t no rest for the wicked,
Until we close our eyes for good”.

Not even fifteen minutes later
I’m still walking down the street,
When I saw a shadow of a man creep out of sight.
Then he walks up from behind
And puts a gun up to my head,
He made it clear he wasn’t looking for a fight.
He said “Give me all you’ve got
I want your money not your life,
But if you try to make a move I won’t think twice.”
I said “You can have my cash
But first you know I got to ask
What made you want to live this kind of life?”

He said “There ain’t no rest for the wicked,
Money don’t grow on trees.
I got bills to pay,
I got mouths to feed,
There ain’t nothing in this world for free.
I know I can’t slow down,
I can’t hold back,
Though you know, I wish I could.
No there ain’t no rest for the wicked,
Until we close our eyes for good”.

Now a couple hours passed
And I was sitting at my house,
The day was winding down and coming to an end.
So I turned on the TV
And flipped it over to the news,
And what I saw I almost couldn’t comprehend.
I saw a preacher man in cuffs he’d taken money from the church,
He’s got this bank account with righteous dollar bills.
But even still I can’t say much
Because I know we’re all the same,
Oh yes we’ve all got to satisfy those thrills.

“Oh, there ain’t no rest for the wicked,
Money don’t grow on trees.
We got bills to pay,
We got mouths to feed,
There ain’t nothing in this world for free.
I know we can’t slow down,
We can’t hold back,
Though you know, we wish we could.
No there ain’t no rest for the wicked,
Until we close our eyes for good”

Adam Lambert and Kris Allen

The New York Times reports that AT&T threw its support behind Kris Allen as the next American Idol. During the final performances, AT&T actually provided phones for Kris Allen fans to cast blocks of votes. Adam Lambert? No such phone love.

AT&T reps provided the free services at two parties in Arkansas after the final performance episode. During the event, the representatives provided instructions on how to send “power texts.”

Power texts send 10 or more text messages at one time. According to sources, these power texts have an “exponentially greater effect on voting than do single text messages or calls to the show’s toll-free phone lines.”

Wednesday, Fox Broadcasting issued this statement: “Fox and the producers of ‘American Idol’ are absolutely certain that the results of this competition are fair, accurate and verified. Kris Allen is, without a doubt, the American Idol. We have an independent third-party monitoring procedure in place to ensure the integrity of the voting process. In no way did any individuals unfairly influence the outcome of the competition.”

AT&T issued a statement of their own saying: “…countless parties were held,” and that “it’s quite a leap to suggest that a few individuals could have impacted the final results.”

*** In other American Idol news, Clay Aiken has issued an apology for his statements about Adam Lambert.   I always think it says a lot about someone when they’re big enough (and cool enough) to say, “I’m sorry.”

Well done Clay.  We Adam fans are a forgiving bunch.   Besides, someone else has our complete ATTention now!
